This is an airport????
It was the strangest thing to be pushing an airport trolley in the outdoors. My goodness, the Koh Samui international airport had to be one of the cutest, well kept unique airports I've ever come across. It felt like a resort. They had these sprawling manicured lawns and the "terminal" if you could call it that had plants and what looked like a pond right in the middle of it near the immigration counter! A lot of people go to Koh Samui for a holiday (let's face it, it's not exactly a business centre) so it's fantastic that the airport is the way it is. It's so laid back :)

I was at this very airport not too long ago and iit has had massive renovations. It reminds me of walking between some streets in australia. I had about 3 hours to kill and found myself wanting more time to check out all the cool shops. It is like ....a bonus to get this shopping pleasure when normally you are dreading the waiting time.

Many years ago, I went on safari in Africa. There was this one place our plane landed...in the middle of nowhere! It was surreal. The only thing that greeted us was the wildlife and the scent of clean air on a dirty landing strip with tall grass surrounding the clearing!! I can relate to this airport you were at...though it does look like it has slightly more fabric than the one I am speaking of!!! LOL
